All the packages you need to make your kde installation autodetect any removable device.
Before you start make sure you have a linux kernel 2.6.x installed and running.

For kdeutopia 3.5.0 follow these instructions:
  1. remove the udev package that comes with Slackware 10.2 and install this package;
  2. install\upgrade all the other packages from here, pay attention to hal and dbus that have been renamed to hal-qt and dbus-qt;
  3. follow this README to make hal and dbus start at boot time.


For kdeutopia 3.4 follow these instructions:
  1. remove the udev package that comes with Slackware 10.2 and install this package;
  2. install dbus 0.23.3, libcap 1.10 and hal 0.4.8 from here;
  3. remove the kdebase package that comes with Slackware 10.2 and install this package;
  4. set /etc/rc.d/rc.hal and /etc/rc.d/rc.messagebus executable;

Now reboot and enjoy your new media:/ on konqueror!
